The facilities of the existing Berkshire Hospital were expanded by
the construction of this new, 6-story, 132,000 s.f. Medical Arts Building,
a multi-level parking structure and interconnecting air walks. The
new complex offers private physician Consultation and Examination
Rooms, Medical Laboratories, associated Reception/Office/Records areas,
a Physical Therapy/Exercise Facility and full cafeteria. Energy resource
conservation was a crucial concern in building and mechanical/electrical
design. The entire facility is barrier-free and disability accessible.
The total development took advantage of a very confirmed urban site.
